Carbon steel, high pressure, and the corrosion problem
Steel pipe is the default where pressure is high — including applications such as high-pressure paste backfill lines.
Carbon steel is the common choice because of its strength and ductility. The trade-off is corrosion: without protection and inspection, a carbon steel line degrades from the outside in, and the failure is rarely convenient.
Quando Holdings supports this infrastructure as part of its civil, building and maintenance work — the groundwork, supports, plinths, access and protective maintenance around the pipe runs.
