Materials calculators

What this calculator is — and is not

These are indicative quantities for planning and budgeting. They are not a quotation, a bill of quantities, or a structural design.
Figures exclude labour, plant, transport, formwork, scaffolding, preliminaries and contingency. Actual consumption varies with site conditions, workmanship, material quality, batching accuracy and access.
Reinforcing steel, concrete grade and any structural element must follow the drawings and specification issued by a qualified engineer. Nothing here replaces professional design.
Quando Holdings accepts no liability for ordering or budgeting decisions made solely on these figures. Send us the numbers and we will check them against your drawings.
Questions

Using the calculator

No. It produces indicative material quantities only. For a priced quotation, send us the drawings and site details and we will respond properly.
Metric throughout. Dimensions in metres, thickness in millimetres. Results in m³, m², kg, litres and whole units — bags, blocks, tiles, sheets.
Five to ten per cent covers most concrete, blockwork and plaster. Allow ten per cent on straight-lay tiling and fifteen per cent on diagonal or patterned work.
1:3:6 for mass concrete and blinding, 1:2:4 as the general structural mix, 1:1.5:3 where higher strength is needed. Structural elements follow the engineer’s specification.
440 × 220 mm blocks laid with 10 mm joints, giving 0.1035 m² per block face — about 9.7 blocks per square metre — with mortar at 0.03 m³ per square metre of walling.
